
IGN got their hands on a few new stills from THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, and boy, they sure look like they come from a Roland Emmerich movie. Those aren’t the kinds of thoughts I want to be thinking when I consider a remake of one of cinema’s most beloved sci-fi classics, but there ya go. The good news is, it wasn’t directed by Roland Emmerich. The, erm, other news, is that it’s by the guy who helmed THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE.
Of course, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL is about what happens when our neighbors in the universe take notice of us being a bunch of a-holes and decide to do something about it – unless we change our wicked ways… It stars Keanu Reeves (basically method-acting as an emotionless extraterrestrial), the only lovely Jennifer Connelly, and head MAD MAN himself Jon Hamm. It hits theaters on DECEMBER 12
