Oh, my cousin (who’s a HUGE Jason Voorhees fan) is going to shit a brick when he hears this. If you share in his hockey-masked affinity as well, then grab some toilet paper because… Paramount Pictures is prepping a BRAND NEW, revamped FRIDAY THE 13TH box set!
Clearly this is being done in conjunction with the forthcoming remake from Platinum Dunes and that’s just fine by me! Hopefully they’ll make this next box set a little meatier than the last one, which only featured a couple short documentaries and some lame deleted scenes. Plus, there were commentary tracks on only some of the movies and not all!
I’m sure that given the hype surrounding the remake that Paramount is going to be pulling out all the stops for a top-notch boxed set. I wonder if they’ll be able to include JASON GOES TO HELL, JASON X, and FREDDY VS JASON, which were all made by New Line Cinema. It’s doubtful, I suppose, but who knows? I mean, the remake lists New Line, Paramount, and Platinum Dunes as the production companies, so maybe this merger can translate over to the boxed set? Word on the street is that a lot is being planned. We’ll see!
P.S. I only have one special request for the boxed set: 3-D glasses for Part III!!!
