Walking wraps

We’ve just received word through director Mel House’s MySpace blog that his film WALKING DISTANCE has just completed principal photography. Over the last two months, we’ve covered this project pretty closely here and here and here and here. It does sound like a pretty cool flick. Take a refresher of the plot:

An idyllic, small, self-sufficient community. On the surface, it seems like the perfect neighborhood. Everything you could possibly need is within Walking Distance. But… the pastoral exterior conceals a dark past and an even darker secret. As a group of individuals – each with their own ties and agendas with the town and each other – converges on the enclave, strange things begin to happen. Very strange things. Strange enough to test (and then break) the very fabric of reality itself.

Everyone wants a homecoming, but in this case you really can’t ever go home again. No matter how hard you try, you can’t escape your past, and you can’t outrun yourself. Both are always within Walking Distance…

Regarding the wrapped photography (shown above), here’s what House wrote on his blog:

“So, last night was our final night of principal photography. We went out with a freaking bang by shooting scenes of mass chaos down in Galveston on The Strand. We had tons of extras running around screaming bloody murder, getting attacked, etc… all under the watchful eye of the Galveston Police Department and the Public Works Department. It was pretty neat to have two whole blocks shut down for our horror shenanigans.”

Sounds like some exciting stuff! You can click here to read more. The cast includes Debbie Rochon, Reggie Bannister, Adrienne King, Denton Blane Everett, Kathy Lamkin, Katie Featherston, Glenn Morshower and Shannon Lark (below). WALKING DISTANCE is scheduled to release some time in 2009.
