Get ready for your next helping of “When Mythical Creatures Attack”. No, that isn’t a new show coming to Spike TV. Rather it’s the latest monster feature from director Jason Tomaric called MANEATER (and no, it’s not a porno). And you know what? The plot doesn’t sound half bad. Have a taste:
HARRY BAILEY, former FBI profiler and now sheriff of tiny Butte’s Creek in Canada, has his hands full raising his beautiful 18 year old daughter, PEARL, alone since the disappearance of his wife, MARGIE, nine years ago–a disappearance that still haunts him. Harry has a habit of visualizing the crimes he’s asked to investigate but when several people die a horrific death from the attack of a mythical creature called the Windigo (pictured above), Harry’s dreams take on a disturbing turn, causing him to believe he himself might be the attacker…
Could be interesting. And no, the creature in question, the Windigo, is not to be confused with the titular monster of 2001’s WENDIGO. MANEATER was written by Michael Emanuel and John K. Anderson. Casting for the flick has just begun. Once I know more, I’ll pass it on.
