Very quietly, Erica Leerhsen has become one of horror’s most prominent scream queens. Appearing in flicks like BLAIR WITCH 2, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, WRONG TURN 2, and the upcoming LONELY JOE and SLAUGHTER, Leerhsen brings adorable good looks and a certain measure of toughness to her roles. Sounds like I’m writing a damn profile piece here. Why I’m really writing about Ms. Leerhsen is the news that she’s joined James Colmer’s THE FURY, which is being shot in Australia.
No, this has nothing to do with the 1978 Brian De Palma flick (although, that is being remade); this creepshow is about five teenagers who take shelter in an abandoned slaughterhouse rumored to be haunted by a malevolent poltergeist. Overcome by an incredible rage, one of them seeks to destroy the others.
Leerhsen joins Holly Brisley, Patrick Nuo, and August Lacore. According to IMDB, the flick has a November 11 release date (on DVD).
