Whenever someone mentions Robert Picardo (above), my initial thought is always of his hilarious role in Joe Dante’s GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH where he played a stuck up executive who gets down and dirty with a girl gremlin right before the closing credits. Ah memories… Now some 18 years later, Mr. Picardo is still going strong having just wrapped another genre effort.
It’s called SENSORED and I’m really digging it’s eerie and ORIGINAL premise: It’s about a children’s book illustrator, Wade [Picardo], whose sanity comes into question when his mind begins to unravel, and the demons that lurk there cause him to believe there is a conspiracy against him. He inhabits a twilight world of shifting reality and illusion, where cruelty and rampant evil do battle with his better instincts. Only one person can help him, and that person’s about to die.
The flick was written by Kevin Haskin and directed by Ryan Todd. In addition to Picardo, it also stars Sarah Knowlton, Brian Rife, Michelle Page, Chase Anthony Hodge, David Fine, and Christopher Michael Holley. SENSORED is currently in post-production and hopes to screen this August, along with its first festival submission to September’s Fantastic Fest in Austin.
