About a month and a half ago, there were reports of a ROBOCOP remake in the works–or at least, the idea was being discussed. And the world, as we knew it, went into severe mourning.
Fangoria had a chance to talk with ROBOCOP co-writer Ed Neumeier about the possibility of another ROBOCOP, and he had some interesting things to say. Check it out:
People have been talking about another ROBOCOP for a long time… [it] is something I would love to go back to at some point… A new ROBOCOP movie would be cool. I would only hope that whoever does it, even if it’s me, would just do a good job.
During the whole chat, not once does Neumeier refer to it being a ROBOCOP remake, just that it’s another ROBOCOP–a ROBOCOP 4, if you will. Cool!
At long as they decide to not go the PG-13 ROBOCOP 3 route again, and stick with the more stylized ultra-violence from the original, then I think we’ll be ok.
