The Hollywood Reporter announced this morning that Columbia Pictures and Original Films have picked up the sci-fi epic BATTLE: LOS ANGELES, written by Chris Bertolini.
If you’re like me, you’re thinking this may be an adaptation of the Rage Against the Machine album ‘The Battle of Los Angeles,’ but it’s not. Actually, it’s about one Marine platoon’s encounter in the battle against an alien invasion on the streets of Los Angeles.
Sign me up! Let’s see, alien invasion? A platoon of badass Marine’s? A battle in L.A.? Sounds like a mix between STARSHIP TROOPERS meets ALIENS, meets WAR OF THE WORLDS. In other words, it’s sounds f*cking awesome!
Not much else has been revealed, other than it’ll be going into production in about six months, and it’s looking to be a big scale event movie done on a moderate budget. Score! Stick around for more on BATTLE: LOS ANGELES as we hear it!
STARSHIP TROOPERS’ hottie Denise Richards!
