Prom Night has fun

Everything about the upcoming PROM NIGHT (which looks nothing like the original) looks like a pile of teeny-boppy PG-13 horror crap relying on ‘BOO’ scares and flashy editing to get scares. In other words, you’d have to pay me lotsa moola to want to check it out in theaters, and I’d probably only watch it on DVD if I was hammered.

That said, Cinematical is reporting that the new marketing campaign for select theaters featuring the PROM NIGHT standees is pretty cool, and after watching the video below, I’d agree–this may be the coolest thing about the PROM NIGHT remake yet!

See, the standee features a set of doors that any cold blooded theater-goer would want to peak behind just to see. What they don’t expect is a dude inside the standee that’s ready to jump out and scare the bejesus out of them! I bet theater workers have been waiting their entire careers for this opportunity–what a cool gig!

So while it’s a cheap thrill and an easy scare (much like the movie itself), this new advertising gimmick is pretty cool, reminding me of the gimmick’s used in the 50s to promote movies of this nature. To check out the full scoop, click HERE, and have a blast with the video below. PROM NIGHT hits theaters everywhere this Friday.
