Jason casting call

Bloody Disgusting, always on point when it comes to casting breakdowns, has struck again, this time for a major player in the horror genre. Jason is his name, and apparently, there will be two of them in the upcoming FRIDAY THE 13TH remake. You know what that means….

JASON VOORHEES: Caucasian, fair complexion, Late 20’s, Early 30’s, stunt man. He is thin, lean, and cut from living off the land and residing in the forest around Crystal Lake…

“Cut”? So are we planning on seeing Jason’s abs?

Onto the “other” Jason: YOUNG JASON VOORHEES: Caucasian, fair complexion, older, smaller, kid to play 9 or 10 years of age…

So we will definitely be seeing young Jason, and “misshapen and horrible” aren’t requirements! (I guess that’s what make-up is for.) As for older Jason, I’m guessing a “name” isn’t really necessary, although from time to time you’ll hear people acting like Kane Hodder’s involvement would somehow make the movie better. (They acted that way with FREDDY VS. JASON, and believe me, casting a young Marlon Brando as Jason wouldn’tve made that movie any better.)

Marcus Nispel is directing the remake for Platinum Dunes. It’s scheduled for a February 2009 release.
