Our buddies over at Icons of Fright sent us the heads-up that THE SIGNAL star Justin Welborn has just joined the cast of FINAL DESTINATION 4 as a “rascist.” Guess that means he’s not long for this world – but hell, unless you’re the lead, you’re pretty much a goner in the FINAL DESTINATION flicks.

I find these movies to be enjoyable enough, so I’m not going to hate on yet another addition to the family, although when you’re the fourth installment of a series, you had better be prepared to up the ante. Like, a lot. (Although re-doing the car-crash bit might not be the greatest start.)

Welborn joins Krista Allen (pictured below), Nick Zano, Shantel VanSanten, Haley Webb, and Bobby Campo in the 3-D film, which will be helmed by FINAL DESTINATION 2 director David Ellis. It’s to begin filming in New Orleans with an eye toward being released on 2009.
