F13 for Scout?

In the most uninspired casting rumor of the day – the year perhaps – FEARnet is reporting that Scout Taylor Compton (Laurie Strode in the HALLOWEEN remake) has been approached about taking a role in the FRIDAY THE 13TH remake. No further details are given, but it’s of little surprise, considering this movie will require little to no imagination.

Of course, the young lass isn’t officially on board yet so we’ll have to wait and see if this actually holds water. I’ve got nothing against the girl, she’s cute and was, I guess, adequate in HALLOWEEN. It just seems like Platinum Dunes isn’t even trying with this flick. Hiring the director of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake – as appreciated in some circles as it is – proves that.

Oh, and Scout is also in the APRIL FOOL’S DAY remake that hits next month. Snore.
