We’ve just received the first picture from ALONE IN THE DARK 2. Obviously, it’s Danny Trejo, doing what he does best (i.e. being a badass). Trejo is apparently a member of a group of witchhunters (?!) who join hero Edward Carnby (played by Rick Yune, who takes over the role made so memorable by Christian Slater) in tracking down an evil sorceress…
This is not the first time a sequel has sprung up to a Boll film that was bafflingly horrendous. HOUSE OF THE DEAD and BLOODRAYNE both of course had follow-ups, despite the fact that it’s practically impossible to find a single breathing human being who’ll admit liking the original installments. Can I explain the phenomenon? Nay, I just have to live in it…
Interestingly, ALONE IN THE DARK 2 has a more impressive cast than the first one (although The Arrow isn’t in this one). It stars Rick Yune, Rachel Specter (below, rroorrw), Lance Henriksen, Bill Moseley, Danny Trejo, Ralf Moeller, Zach Ward, Natassia Malthe, P. J. Soles, Michael Pare, Jason Connery (Sean’s son) and Brooklyn Sudano. It was directed by Peter Scheerer and Michael Roesch (writers of the first ALONE, as well as HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2), and produced, of course, by Uwe Boll… Sigh… He cannot be stopped.
