Icons of Fright got their mitts on the first trailer for MALEVOLENCE: BEREAVEMENT, starring Michael Biehn, Alexandra Daddario, and John Savage. The film, from director Stevan Mena, is a follow-up to MALEVOLENCE, which I’ve never been able to get ahold of, but is supposed to be pretty good.

BEREAVEMENT is in actuality a prequel to MALEVOLENCE, which told the story of a group of bank robbers who happen to fall into the loving grasp of a demented serial killer… This new one is, indeed, an “origin” story, detailing how said serial killer grew up to be so bad. Luckily, it doesn’t seem to be a lame, by-the-numbers affair like TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING.
