Not to be confused with the new Hammer horror opus, BEYOND THE RAVE, this little ditty from Brazil is just getting revved up, according to a press release just sent to us.
Described as a “horror fantasy,” the film is about a vengeful cop pursuing a possessed serial killer in the wastelands of Brazil… Indeed, zombies get into the mix later on.
Director Davi de Oliveira Pinheiro (pictured above left, with producer Isidoro B. Guggiana) has this to say: “BEYOND THE GRAVE is very close to an art-house horror film. There is a very personal and mythological universe behind this…This is not only a Brazilian take on the zombie genre, this is shaping into something really unexpected, even to us.”
“The script is a mix of everything I love about cinema and fantasy”, explains Davi. “It’s a movie made with passion, heart and, a la Alejandro Jodorowsky, balls.”
Well, there ain’t nothin’ wrong with that! The flick gets started February 14 (isn’t it romantic?) – but there’s already a teaser trailer, which you can find below. It doesn’t show much (understandably), but there’s a glimpse of one nasty-faced dude that might raise a few goosebumps!
