Sisters trailer

SISTERS isn’t a remake I’m instantly going to shit on, just because I’m not a huge fan of the original. It’s got an interesting premise and some smashing sequences (and certainly a bizarre opening) – but dammit, that Brian De Palma always seems to get in the way of his own work.

As the new trailer for SISTERS ’08 began, I thought: is this really a remake of De Palma’s film? The longer it went on, however, I discovered that indeed it seems to be. All of that said, it’s not particularly exciting. It’s a straight-to-DVD release and looks like it, but I wouldn’t mind being proven wrong. Judge for yourself HERE.

SISTERS was directed by Douglas Buck, and stars Chloe Sevigny, Stephen Rea and Lou Doillon. It hits shelves March 11.
