New Riddick planned?

On his official site, writer-director David Twohy says that he’s planning a third RIDDICK movie – more accurately, it’s being “talked about.” Apparently there’s a significant demand for it, which surprises me – I had always considered THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK a fairly unpopular film. But as Twohy says on his blog, it did well on DVD, and people dig the character, so there’s still some interest in seeing Vin Diesel strap on those funny looking glasses and fight… whoever it’ll be he’s fighting this time.

Taking into consideration the enormous amount of money that CHRONICLES cost (and lost, theatrically), Twohy says this third installment will most likely be an “independent movie,” more in line with his PITCH BLACK (budget: $22 million). For more from the man himself, click it HERE.
