Poltergeist/CHUD confirmations?

Having just seen two birds sitting quietly on my stoop, cooing lovingly to each other, I’m going to go ahead and hurl a stone at them with the intent on smashing them both to bits. With that, I’m here to update you on two remakes that have been making headlines and pissing off/baffling the fan community with their very hints at existence. Of course, these movies are POLTERGEIST and C.H.U.D.

Various sites reported that THEY knew the real deal, but it was never really pinned down what was going on – was the internet rumor mill just churning out its usual bullshit, or was Rob really getting ready to work on a C.H.U.D. remake? It now comes straight from Rob Zombies’ MYSPACE PAGE that he is NOT doing it. To quote the man himself: For those you you who have been asking. NO, I am not doing a remake of CHUD. This a 100% bullshit story.

Huh, and I was so looking forward to this – I was very curious to see what a New York composed entirely of dirty hillbillies would look like… How’s this for a theory: Rob planned on doing it, everyone ridiculed him, he thought better of it..?

Anyway, on to POLTERGEIST: Bloody Disgusting is swearing that the remake is ABSOLUTELY happening – and nothing you or your God has anything to say about it (I threw in that last part – read their article HERE). Mandate Pictures, the company behind THE GRUDGE 2 and the will-we-ever-friggin-see-it? thriller THE STRANGERS will be making it for MGM, although no humans are officially attached. Just hordes of unscary CGI ghosts.

This announcement is especially intriguing, coming on the heels of Jared’s story about a potential POLTERGEIST 4.
