I Am trailer #2

Wow. Gotta say, most of this trailer is fantastic. Trailer #2 for Warner Bros. I AM LEGEND does a very good job of relaying the fact that at its core, this is a horror story about survival and loneliness. And while I’m still skeptical of the star, director, and screenwriters, the marketing team has my full support so far. Check the new trailer out right HERE!

What halts me from getting too excited (when I’m forgetting that it’s from the director of CONSTANTINE) are moments where it appears that the “vampires” are clearly CGI. Not only does it make me think of how terrible the robots in I, ROBOT looked when they were hopping around like crickets on crack, but it pisses me off on a very basic level. Are there not stunt men and make-up artists available? What’s with this obsession on Hollywood’s part (George Lucas is obviously the greatest villain on this front) to put in computer effects where they’re not needed? Stop spending money willy-nilly like a desperate housewife, Hollywood!

Directed by Francis Lawrence and written by Mark Protosevich and Akiva Goldsman, I AM LEGEND hits theaters on December 14, and yeah, I’ll probably end up seeing it.
