Langella in Box

Skeletor himself, Frank Langella, has just joined Richard Kelly’s THE BOX, which also stars Cameron Diaz. Langella will play a mysterious stranger who presents a box to Diaz, telling her that pushing a button upon it will bring her great wealth, but also kill someone she doesn’t know (at least that’s what the Richard Matheson short story, “BUTTON, BUTTON,” was about, but I’m sure Kelly is expanding on the plot some).

The $30 million flick starts shooting this November, which means it should just about coincide with the release of Kelly’s troubled, long-delayed SOUTHLAND TALES. Matheson, of course, will be represented this December when I AM LEGEND opens, and I swear if they besmerch his name with Will Smith-style “Oh no they didn’t” shenanigans, I can promise you there will be an unholy box-full of… angry letters delivered to Warner Bros. pronto!(damn, that’s all I’ve got…)
