
The promotional train for the Francis Lawrence directed, Will Smith action horror vehicle, I AM LEGEND has kick started into gear. Yesterday the official one-sheet for the film popped up on sites everywhere and now, for Apple iPhone users, you can get a little LEGEND in your life.
Ad agency Crew Creative have been tapped to design a promotional website exclusively for iPhone users. When a user goes to the I AM LEGEND website via their IPhone, they will be redirected to a custom website, packed with a synopsis, photo gallery, custom iPhone wallpapers, an RSS feed and a link to the trailer from Apple.com.
It also offers a “daylight meter,” a feature inspired from the movie’s story line where Will Smith’s character — a brilliant scientist who is the last human survivor in New York after a virus has turned everyone into night-walking mutants — must complete his tasks in the daylight, forcing him to constantly count down the remaining hours.
“The iPhone allows a pleasing visual experience, particularly for the panoramas of New York City that we’ve created for the site,” Warner Bros. senior vp interactive marketing Don Buckley said. “It is a step in the natural progression of giving consumers information when and where they want it.”
Looks like iPhone users will have another reason to continuously brag about their iPhones. I assume more films will start to do this, giving features exclusive to the Apple device. Good thing I bought one…too bad I can’t use it yet…
