Yep, definitely a slow day for our genre today (slow for me, that lousy bastard Ammon got all my stories – the bastard!) So I’m just gonna show you a building being blown up…
Not just any building though, it’s Gotham General Hospital – formally “Brach’s Candy Factory.” This is a scene, obviously, from THE DARK KNIGHT, and although the specifics of the scene aren’t clear, Hollywood Chicago gave these interesting details:
They did a test run with a group of nurses sprinting from the building followed by a slow-tracking shot of a walking doctor or nurse.
First to go was a walkway between the main building and the parking garage. Nurses were seen running as chunks of concrete began flying.
Then came the main explosions. It was very noisy with a tremendously hot fireball that could be felt from across Cicero.
The day previous, there was this little blurb from the same site:
I have just received word that “The Dark Knight” is seeking amputee extras to portray hospital patients for a scene shooting on Wednesday, Aug. 29 and Thursday, Aug. 30 in Chicago.
So this movie is blowing up nurses and amputees. Nice!!
Ah what the hell, here’s another look…
