Say the name ‘Gunnar Hansen’ to just about anybody who’s anybody, and they’ll likely reply back with ‘He’s Leatherface, bitch!’, as he is and will forever be known as Leatherface, the character he brought to life in the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. Fans of the man should be happy to hear this news then, as it looks like Hansen is set to return to the big screen, this time in another MASSACRE of sorts…
But he won’t be dancing with a chainsaw this time around, he’ll be playing with harpoons and creatures of the sea! REYKJAVIK WHALE WATCHING MASSACRE is gearing up for production, with director Julius Kemp at the helm. While there’s not a lot to go on, the film is set to be a mix between THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, EVIL DEAD, and TCM, all wrapped into one tasty morsel. Those are pretty ambitious words! According to IMDB, MASSACRE goes a bit like this:
An epic tale about a group of whale watchers, whose ship breaks down and they get picked up by a whale fisher vessel. The Fishbillies on the vessel has just gone bust, and everything goes out of control.
Could be cool, could be crap, but either way, it’s good to see Hansen back in the MASSACRE business, and as he’s captain of the Whaling vessel, I’m sure we’ll see him hack a person or two, for old times sakes. No word on when this MASSACRE will begin filming, but let it be known that we’ll let you know as soon as we find out!
