No matter how crappy you think your week was, it most likely was better than David George’s. This Australian guy’s simply riding his horse near a crocodile swamp when he gets off, falls into their lair, then scrambles up a tree… where he sits for seven agonizing nights while crocs wait patiently below.
George said: “Every night I was stalked by two crocs who would sit at the bottom of the tree staring up at me. All I could see was two sets of red eyes below me and all night I had to listen to a big bull croc bellowing a bit further out.”
“I’d yell out at them, ‘I’m not falling out of this tree for you bastards’.”
The movie business works fast, because they’ve already dramatized his story for the big screen! Actually no, even weirder – an Australian flick called BLACK WATER, complete with a similar plot – is already in the can and awaiting release. Talk about shit-luck imitating art! But wait there’s more: the movie claims it’s based on true events… The Aussies should make a reality show called “Sitting in a Tree, Waiting for a Croc to Go Away.”
