Considering that Zack Snyder is currently undertaking a huge project in WATCHMEN (which has a release date set in 200-frickin-9!), it’s amazing, crazy, probably both, that he’s already talking about his follow-up project: ARMY OF THE DEAD.
Nothing groundbreaking here, but Snyder told Bloody Disgusting that this film will be “massive,” a zombie film of a scale unlike any we’ve seen before. Coming from the director of 300 – I believe him (I don’t think 300 is a brilliant film by any means, but give the guy points for making the woeful “art” of green-screen filmmaking fresh and interesting). Also, the dude made what is most people’s favorite zombie flick of the last decade (or two) – DAWN OF THE DEAD.
Set in a quarantined Las Vegas in the not-too-distant future, ARMY OF THE DEAD revolves around a father who tries to save his daughter from imminent death in a zombie-infested world. Will Snyder go with slow zombies this time? Machine gun-toting zombies? Guess we’ll find out in, say, 3-4 years.
Speaking of 300, I’m officially in love with Lena Headey
