The Hollywood Reporter announced this morning that Strike Entertainment has picked up the film rights to Bentley Little’s horror novel THE STORE. I ain’t never heard of this beast before, but with Stephen King calling it a ‘master of the macabre’, you know it has to be good!

Jenna McGrath has been hired to adapt the film to the big screen, which is about an evil corporation’s takeover of a small town. I’m sure there’s more to it than that, and it sounds like what’s happening all over the country every time a Wal-Mart opens… scary stuff, I know. Everytime I drive by Wal-Mart it’s somewhat of a horror show, so this may be the scariest movie ever made!!!

McGrath won the Screenwriters Showcase contest at UCLA back in 2005 for her psychological thriller REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY. Cool. I’m game. Hopefully it’ll rock, and hey- now I have another book to add to my list of books to read before it’s made into a movie. Stick around for more news and updates on THE STORE as we hear it!
