One of the upcoming horror movies filming right now that has a giant bleep on my radar is the Spierig Brothers vampire flick DAYBREAKERS. Maybe because I’m a fan of the Spierig’s last film UNDEAD, or that the cast thus far sounds cool as well, with Ethan Hawke and Willem Dafoe rockin’ the vampire house. Either way, DAYBREAKERS is lookin’ dope to me, and today a bit of casting news has been dropped on the project.
According to MovieHole, Aussie actor Michael Dorman, famous for a few Aussie TV shows that I haven’t heard of before, like ‘The Secret Life of Us’, has been cast in the film, though no details of what his role will be have been announced yet. I’m guessing… vampire. I’m just throwing that out there, but that’s my guess. Vampire. Probably a bad vampire, but it’s really too early to speculate at this point.
DAYBREAKERS goes a bit like this: In the year 2017, a plague has transformed most every human into vampires. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps on a way to save humankind. a researcher (Hawke) works with a covert group of vamps to a band of humans fight back.
