I don’t know what the heck is going on here, but for some damn reason, Hollywood is really into romantic comedies featuring ghosts. I guess I say that because there was that Mark Ruffalo/ Reese Witherspoon flick JUST LIKE HEAVEN not too long ago, and today announced that Tea Leoni will be starring in GHOST TOWN, yet romantic comedy featuring friendly members of the after life.
Co-starring with Ricky Gervais and Greg Kinnear, and directed by David Koepp of all people (who also helmed STIR OF ECHOES and ), GHOST TOWN
Hmmmmmm. Well, I will say this: the fact that he dies during a colonoscopy is pretty flippin’ funny- other than that, this sounds booooriiiiiing. Actually, it reminds me of THE FRIGHTENERS with Michael J. Fox as the P.I. who can see ghosts- and one ghosts wants him to talk to his wife for him. It’s like that one part of the movie…. for an entire movie. Yay.
One this is for sure, Leoni is a full blown hottie, so at least there’ll be ample eye candy when your girlfriend drags you to see this next year. Production is scheduled to start in October (!), and I see a Valentine’s Day release in it’s future… but nothing official, so don’t go making plans just yet.
