T’formers Int’l poster…again

We’re being bombarded with international posters lately for the relatively small indie flick, TRANSFORMERS. And why call off the air raid now? Buzznet is displaying a new one, and it’s keeping in the spirit of most of the posters that have been released lately – basically using the same images in new compositions.

If you ask me, I think this one is revealing the surprise ending of the film: that Megatron is actually just a figment of Optimus Prime’s sordid imagination – an alter-ego that enables Prime to lash out in ways his usually reserved persona isn’t able to do.

I’m still approaching this film very cautiously. I would love nothing more than to be delivered a fantastic giant-fighting-robots movie, and yet I fear this may not be the one. Maybe years of being crushed by horrible blockbusters like GODZILLA has me disillusioned. There’s also the fact that I haven’t liked a Michael Bay movie since THE ROCK.

Speaking of “rocks,” if you’ve been living under one for about a year there’s a live-action TRANSFORMERS movie coming out on July 4th. Expect another in a long line of $100 million+ opening weekends this summer.
