Central’s Last Larry

To go along with Scott’s news yesterday about the upcoming Adult Swim zombedy STIFF (check that out HERE), it was announced today that a writer/producer from The Simpsons is gearing up for another zombedy project over at Comedy Central, although this one’s aimed as ‘live-action’.

Dana Gould is aiming to create and star in the 30 minute show, and if you liked SHAUN OF THE DEAD, you’re gonna love THE LAST LARRY! Check out what Gould had to say about the project: It’s a very traditional sitcom set in the world of a zombie holocaust. I felt fairly positive after I pitched it that I wouldn’t hear a lot of ‘Not that idea again… I hope to rip off not only ‘Shaun of the Dead’ but also ‘Battlestar Galactica.’ If I could combine those two shows in a sitcom, I think I’d be accomplishing something.

The man’s joking about the rip-off, of course (he IS a comedian), but the idea behind a 30 minute post-zombie world comedy to check out every week… oh man, sounds like fun to me! Plus anyone who’s written for The Simpsons is A-OK in my book, as it may be one of the funniest shows on TV. Stick around for more on THE LAST LARRY as we hear it, and hope the other survivors of the holocaust look a little something like this!
