ShockTillYouDrop is reporting that MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN is only the first of a planned slew of Clive Barker adaptations to be hitting the screen via Seraphim Pictures.
Joe Daley and Anthony DiBlasi, both from Seraphim, have said they’re planning feature film versions of THE BOOK OF BLOOD and PIG BLOOD BLUES, among others in Barker’s BOOKS OF BLOOD series. PIG BLOOD will be helmed by DiBlasi. (whew, I haven’t written “blood” so much since I wrote it all over my childhood bedroom. In blood!)
“We have five or six of the shorts adapted into screenplays in some form,” Daley says.
PIG BLOOD BLUES is about a possessed pig. DiBlasi elaborates: “I love stories about outsiders and those kids at this juvenile detention center were certainly outsiders. It has this amazing ‘Lord of the Flies’ element with all these boys trapped together and this evil entity is stuck in there with them. Where the short story just touches on the supernatural element, I focused a lot on making it a ghost story. But keeping the pig, of course.”
If the flick is a hit, maybe we can have him take on “HOGZILLA!”
