I have never actually heard of Hogzilla before today, but apparently he’s something of a legend. In 2004, an 800 pound, 8 foot long swine roamed the wilds of Georgia before getting put out of its misery by a local hunter and was thusly sent packing to hog heaven. Now producer Rick Trimm is making the tale of HOGZILLA a feature film. No word on whether or not it’ll be 2 hours of a hog walking around doing nothing before being shot in the head, or if they’ll embellish his biography with a little violence and mayhem (my guess is the latter).
The producers have even managed to persuade the hog’s assassin, Chris Griffin, to take time off from his busy hog-murdering schedule to be on set as an advisor. “If you’re doing a story about a rare hog that is unlike anything anyone has ever seen and is utterly fascinating to behold before it gets shot dead in cold blood, I want to be a part of it,” Griffin said (okay, no he didn’t, but he had to have said something along those lines).
Lithium Productions says the production will need 200 locals for extras and is hosting tryouts next month.
“We don’t need professional actors,” Trimm said. “We need real people who are interested in the movie.”
So if you are, by any chance, interested in the exploits of a hog that makes Rosie O’Donnell look like Calista Flockhart, go to Georgia and become part of the Hogzilla phenomenon!
