Probably one of the more anticipated films of 2008 has to be Guillermo del Toro’s follow up to 2003’s HELLBOY, subtitled THE GOLDEN ARMY. There’s something about seeing Ron Perlman all big and red, kicking ass left and right, and smoking that huge cigar that will always bring a smile to my face. And the thought of seeing him up on the big screen again? Count me in!
Shock Till You Drop had a chance to chat with GOLDEN ARMY star Luke Goss, who will be playing “A ruthless leader who treads the world above and the one below [who] defies his bloodline and awakens an unstoppable army of creatures.” Or in short, he’s the bad guy. He dropped a few interesting lines about playing the villain on the big screen again, as well as what being the bad guy is all about. Check it:
I’m a big fan of taking the maniacal out of anything. Certainly ten years ago it was like ‘bad guy’ meant ‘maniacal villain’ – they were great actors not in the best roles.
You may remember him playing the baddie in del Toro’s other movie, BLADE II, and from all accounts, the guy’s excited to jump back in the sack with the director on this effort.
