Look, you obviously don’t need me to rant and rave about those goshdarn remakes that’re clogging up our theaters and kicking the memories of our favorite classics in the groin. Some offend me more than others (THE BIRDS for example), and some I’m just kinda like “Huh? Really? That?“
Such is the case with the remake of IT’S ALIVE, which I can’t get too worked up about, because A) I’ve never seen the original, and B) why not have another “killer mutant baby” movie out there? Not like you can have too many of them.
HOSTEL II hottie Bijou Phillips has joined the film, which is currently shooting in Bulgaria. Other castmembers include James Murray and Raphael Coleman, and it’s being directed by Josef Rusnak (THE THIRTEENTH FLOOR).
In case you were worried the remake wouldn’t explode the foundation of today’s bourgeoisie, rest assured, as Rusnak explains: ‘Some character elements and situations have been updated to reflect certain changes in society, but the script still preys on the genre’s ability to explode the foundation of today’s bourgeoisie’.
That’s right Josef, explode that foundation. F*ck you, foundation of today’s bourgeoisie’!!
