2 More For Igor

It’s been a while since we’ve heard much from the IGOR camp, the animated horror-comedy about the Mad Scientist’s trusty sidekick, and his dreams of being a mad scientist himself one day. Today The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the flick has landed a few more voice talents, and I couldn’t be any happier!

John Cusack and Sean Hayes have joined the already impressive cast, including Jeremy Piven, Jay Leno, Jennifer Coolidge, Steve Buscemi, John Cleese, and Christian Slater as Igor. Oh, did I say Christian Slater? My bad. That doesn’t look to be the case anymore, as Cusack was brought on board as Igor to replace Slater as the voice in the title role. Why? No reason. Could be scheduling conflicts. Could be no one wants Slater in their movie cause he’s slated for failure. Either way, Slater is OUT and Cusack is IN.

Hayes will be voicing Brian the Brain, a brain in a jar who is one of Igor’s sidekicks and inventions. If you have no idea who Hayes is, don’t feel bad… cause I had to look his ass up just to see what he looked like. He’s one of the dude’s from TV’s ‘Will & Grace’. Feel better now?

Directed by Tony Leondis, with a screenplay by Chris McKenna, IGOR is currently scheduled for a Halloween weekend release… 2008. Will it be going against a SAW 5? Only time will tell. And yes, it likely will.
