While I’m typically a huge zombie movie fan, I
generally have a love for the other form of undead that walk the earth as well;
vampires.
And while I haven’t seen a really good vampire
movie in quite some time, the trailer for PERFECT CREATURE looks like it
might be the vampire movie to pull me back in.
Set during the 1960s in an
alternate New Zealand known as Nuovo Zelandia, PERFECT CREATURE imagines
a world where vampires and humans peacefully co-exist, with the bloodsuckers the
next step in human evolution. This delicate balance looks to be destroyed when
an influenza epidemic begins to sweep the human population and one vampire turns
to preying on humans. The church sends out Silus to catch the renegade vampire,
Edgar. Silus joins forces with a human police captain, and discovers that
Edgar harbors dark secrets himself.
While I haven’t heard about the film before
today, the trailer seen
here looks pretty gritty and dark, a place
where vampire movies belong. And while the film was completed in 2006, no
word yet on when this bad boy will be hitting domestic theatres. So check out
the trailer and spit some bullets below if you’ve seen this bad boy overseas or
have any more info about it at all!
