Variety is reporting this morning that New line Cinema has just picked up the rights to the comedy CRYPTOZOOLOGISTS, from writer David Gilcreast. If you’re wondering just what in the hell a CRYPTOZOOLOGIST is, and where you can get your degree, keep on reading…

Most likely picked up due to the immensely successful NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM, CRYPTO follows scientists who track mythical creatures such as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster and have to deal with the sudden appearance of the creatures in San Francisco. Sounds fun, no? It also sounds like some CGI family entertainment that could be too lame and silly for it’s own good… let’s just hope Ben Stiller will have nothing to do with this one.
