We got word today that the soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino’s DEATH PROOF, part of the GRINDHOUSE juggernaught, is hitting music stands April 3rd (3 days before the release of GRINDHOUSE in theaters). Not only does the soundtrack have some rockin’ tunes that truly capture the feel of the GRINDHOUSE experience of the 60s and 70s, but it also features dialog from the film, in-between tracks!
For anyone who’s familiar with the soundtrack to Tarantino’s PULP FICTION, you know the guy can make a truly awesome album- I still rate that soundtrack as one of the better albums ever put together- I shit you not. While I’m not really familiar with the names of the tracks, I’m sure the music won’t be any less rockin’. QT states: “The whole grindhouse experience, where you would see two horror films in these low ghetto theaters. Robert and I had the idea to actually do this film that is closer to a grindhouse ride and recreates the experience in one movie and in the best possible version ever presented.”
Since I’m goo-goo for GRINDHOUSE, even that above re-hashed quote still gets me excited everytime I hear it! Check out the track-list below- the dialog is in italics, and YES, that is Eli Roth getting some dialog love in this puppy. The soundtrack hits stand April 3rd, and GRINDHOUSE hits theaters everywhere April 6th.
