Just the other day I was thinking to myself ‘Dang, we hadn’t had an Asian horror remake in a while’, and BAM! today Variety is reporting some updates to the Americanized version of the Pang Bros.’ THE EYE, this time produced by Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner, and starring the scrumptious Jessica Alba. Since the original was made a whopping 4 Years Ago, it’s obvious that it was time to remake it, as the advances in storytelling since then have doubled – if not quadrupled.
We have some casting news to report on THE EYE, though just leaving it as a solo Jessica Alba project would be just fine… easy on the eyes, if you feel what I’m sayin’. But that’s not really plausible, so it looks like Alessandro Nivola will be joining Alba as her ‘lover interest’ in the film, and the always entertaining, if not a little wacky, Parker Posey has also joined the cast, though her role is a bit unclear.
Posey, who’s no stranger to horror, as she also rocked rolls in BLADE: TRINITY and SCREAM 3, is a welcome addition to the project, though, like I was saying, if all it was was a movie with Alba prancing around and seeing ghosts, that’d be cool with me too.
No word on when production will start on this badboy, but with the cast shaping up like it is, I’m guessing cameras will roll something this Spring. Stick around for more updates on the latest remake, and check out the Pang Bros. first American film THE MESSENGERS, which hits theaters everywhere today!

I could stare into her ‘eyes’ all day long…
