Hear that Ring?

Can you hear me now?

The closer it comes to its release date, the more I’m dreading to see The Pang Bros. THE MESSENGERS. I don’t know if it’s the marketing for the film, or the fact that it just look like another STIR OF ECHOES/ THE SIXTH SENSE type flick, where the little kids in the movie are the only ones that can see ghosts.

And apparently, they can only hear them too. If you head over to the OFFICIAL SITE for the flick, you can test your mad paranormal sensing skills. See, cause only kids are supposed to be able to see/hear this stuff, so if nothing happens for you… don’t feel too bad. I tested up the audio, and apparently can’t hear high enough on the high-pitch-o-meter to be much of a paranormal sensory receptor or something… but then again, I’m not a kid, so I guess the test works.

If you can hear all them high frequency sounds, then maybe you need to blow some dough on a RINGTONE that ‘only teenagers can hear’. Then have your friends call you in class and see whether or not you get busted by your teacher, or if the damn thing actually works. I checked it out, but according to my old man ears, I couldn’t here jack. Waste of moola if you ask me, but then again… I’m not a teenager, and can therefore not hear the damn thing.

Of course, this is all to hype up the release of THE MESSENGERS, which is aiming to hit theaters and break box office records February 2nd. Maybe the ringtone is really like a ‘pulse’ of sorts, and when THE MESSENGERS is released, the tone will ring and those who can hear it will be told subliminally through their subconscious that they really need to go see the movie. If that’s the case, then this is pure marketing genius.
