Thing Remake Art

Those dudes over at MoviesOnline.ca had a chance to chat it up with some guy who’d like to do the F/X for the companion piece/ remake of John Carpenter’s THE THING. Blasphemous and a spark of disgust surround this stupid idea for a movie- which is actually going to happen thanks to Universal and Strike Entertainment. Along with an interesting and lengthy chat about the remake, they were also supplied with an assload of ‘concept art’ that this F/X guy did for the film… and these aren’t half bad!

The art is mostly different stages of the Thing, taking over dogs and people and turning them into.. well, nasty little Things! I guess it’s kind of a funny article, as it’s basically a couple of fans of the original talking about the ups and downs the remake could bring… and it just so happens one of these fans is an F/X guy who has his own ideas of where the remake should go. If you’re into art and THE THING, you should definitely check this out!

Go ahead and click HERE to catch up on all the fun (and fun it is… funny too, once you start reading it). Though make it clear- this here is not official art, nor has there been any official announcements of directors or anything cool like that, except that Ronald D. Moore is writing the damn thing. Let’s hope they don’t f*ck it up…
