New Transsiberian

What’s worse for an actor being replaced in a movie? I mean, there’s all the auditions and the rehearsals and you make plans for yourself for the next few months, only to be replaced by someone else at the last minute? Just ask Samantha Morton (below) what’s worse than that, as she was just replaced in Brad Anderson’s TRANSSIBERIAN. But if you ask her, she’ll probably say…”having a ceiling fall on you is worse”.

And why the shite would she say that? Oh… because that’s exactly what happened. Morton was apparently injured when the ceiling in her London home fell on her, and her recovery time did not go along with the filming schedule. And no, I’m not makin’ this up. Talk about the year’s biggest bummer for Morton…

But not for us, as she was replaced by Emily Mortimer (above), who will now join Woody Harrelson, Kate Mara, Eduardo Noriega and Ben Kingsley in Madrid for filming. TRANSSIBERIAN tells the story of two couples on a train ride from China to Moscow. One couple is normal, the other leaves behind a trail or murder and deception along the way. It’s like TERROR TRAIN but not at all!

Mortimer has a good ‘look’ about her, so bravo on the casting replacement! Hopefully Morton will have that ceiling looked at… and a better 2007.
