Primeval Updates

The more I hear about the upcoming croc-in-your-pants monster flick PRIMEVAL, the more I want to check it out. Call me stupid, but I really dug LAKE PLACID, and feel that another croc movie, this time not so goofy, could be the thing we need here in 2007.

We caught a glimpse of the official one sheet not too long ago, but we were just informed that the film will be hitting theaters Friday, April 13th! Though it may be overshadowed by GRINDHOUSE, opening only one week before, I think April is the perfect time for pre-summer time fun at the movies, and as HOSTEL: PART II has the possibility of being released the same month, it looks like April is becoming the new October.

To go along with the new release date, and the full poster below, we also have a new synopsis for ya. Check it: In one of the most remote places on earth, a bloodthirsty serial killer has claimed over 300 victims, and is still at large to this day. Now, inspired by the true story of the world’s most prolific killer, comes PRIMEVAL, a nail-biting horror-thriller that follows an American news crew determined to capture this terrifying murderer alive. The danger begins as producer Tim Freeman (DOMINIC PURCELL, “Prison Break”), cameraman Steven Johnson (ORLANDO JONES) and their rag-tag team set out on a journey up-river in search of their subject. But the deeper they probe into the mystery of this elusive assassin, the deadlier their trip becomes.

Kick ass. Along with Purcell and Jones, the flick stars Brooke Langton (pictured above) and Jurgen Prochnow, and is directed by Michael Katleman, whose previous directing skills have been mainly seen on the small screen, notably a few episodes of SMALLVILLE and TRU CALLING. The poster here is dark & gritty, Jones is one funny mofo, and Langton is what I like to call a ‘babe’. What’s not to like here?

Prepare to get your killer croc groove on this April, and stick around for a first glimpse of the monster in question, as it’s only a matter of time before some official stills start to make it our way.
