Dimension dropped the bomb today that Rob Zombie’s “re-imagining” of John Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN will be opening nationwide… drum roll please… not in October like you’d expect but in… more drum roll please… AUGUST!!!

You read that right, folks- instead of busting out with a no-brainer October/ Halloween release, they’ve decided to try and cash in on some of that sweet, summer blockbuster cash. Kind of an odd move, considering the amount of bank SAW III rocked- though I suspect they’re just a tad weary that SAW IV would blow them out of the water if they chose the same weekend.

So there you have it – Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN, so far starring Sherri Moon Zombie, will be hitting theaters nationwide AUGUST 31st, 2007. They better get crackin’ if they’re ever gonna hit that release date!
