Say what you will about the upcoming prequel to SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, the new teaser poster released today for HANNIBAL RISING is frickin’ rockin’!

From director Peter Webber and starring Gaspard Ulliel, Gong Li and Helena Lia Tachovska, HANNIBAL RISING tells of the upbringing of the Lecter children post World War II, and the fun stuff they went through to produce the monster that is the Hannibal Lecter we all know and love today.

The poster, featuring the unmistakable mask and those penetrating eyes, hits the money in my book and has me actually somewhat curious about what it’ll have instore for us. A little incest action? A little sloppy 1st tries at cannibalism? Only time will tell! My only problem? I think the previous title YOUNG HANNIBAL worked better, but what’s done is done, so what the hell are you gonna do? Look for HANNIBAL RISING in theaters February 9th, 2007.
