The dudes over at Bloody-Disgusting sent over word (take it as a rumour for now) that not only is Fox remaking THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, shortening it to ROCKY HORROR, but the dude pegged to star as Dr. Frank-N-Furter (according to him at least) is none other than the antichrist superstar himself, Marilyn Manson!
According to the scoop, in a recent interview with E!, Manson revealed that Fox approached him to star as the sweet transvestite for the update, which has been rumoured to be in the works for a while now. While I never really saw the appeal of the original (my Dad loved Meat Loaf’s role, though, but more for the singing), and considering this is yet another remake (proving once again that Hollywood has the creative writing equivilent of a Xerox machine), I’ll pass.
On a side note, Manson and his band are doing a cover of “This Is Halloween” from NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS for the rerelease of the film’s soundtrack, which is coinciding with the film’s rerelease to theatres in 3D. How convenient!
