Cell dials writers

“Oops, wrong CELL…”

The grammatically-challenged guys over at Ain’t It Cool News snagged news that Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewsk (the guys behind THE PEOPLE VS. LARRY FLYNT, ED WOOD) have been pegged to write Dimension Films’ adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, CELL (no, not that film starring J-Lo’s digitally altered butt).

As previously reported, Eli Roth (some dude who directed this CABIN FEVER film or something) is set to helm the pic, which is a throwback to his early apocalyptic horror novels. In a single moment, a pulse sent out through cell phones around the world turns every phone user into a crazed, murderous zombie. If it sounds like something George Romero would do, King dedicated the book to Romero, who’s best buds with King. Isn’t that nice? CELL rings in 2007.
