Jake West, director of the new
PUMPKINHEAD sequel entitled PUMPKINHEAD:ASHES TO ASHES recently sat down with
FANGORIA and discussed the third installment of the series. West says that the
new movie, which will premiere on the
Sci Fi Channel Saturday, October 28 at 9:30 p.m. EST., will take place 20
years after the second installment, in an attempt to make the sequel more believable. As
some of you may already know Lance Henriksen, the PUMPKINHEAD alumni will be
returning for this feature as well.
When asked about the film West had
this to say:
“One of the things I wanted to do,”
West continues, “was try and up the ante from the first
film, inasmuch as it’s
not just one person who goes to Haggis for vengeance; it’s a group of people. So
raising the demon causes all sorts of horrific mayhem.”
It’s also interesting to note that
later in the interview West mentions that he attempted to stay away from CGI and
tried to use the same style effects as the previous two. Personally this made me happy,
as I’ve always preferred the old style effects, as opposed to CGI when it comes
to horror flicks.
