Great news today from Prolific Films, a prodco working out of London and Wales. Director Julian Richards who brought us the outstanding genre flick THE LAST HORROR MOVIE is re-teaming with star Kevin Howarth to bring us SUMMER SCARS. The pic is described as a psycho-thriller that gets it on like so:
Based on an incident that happened to the director during his childhood, SUMMER SCARS follows a group of school kids who struggle to escape a peadaphile holding them hostage in the woods. “It’s a very dark tale about the loss of innocence” explains Richards “…and like THE LAST HORROR MOVIE, I think it demonstrates that the best horror is real”.
Well that’s just flat out f*cked up all around, but Richards has already landed himself the plum spot of a must check out any movie from director in my book.
And as you can clearly see from the pic above, Howarth is not going the charming urban killer route with this role. Let’s give the man a hand for range!
