More Jackson Horror?

Before THE LORD OF THE RINGS and KING KONG, Peter Jackson brought us some great horror flicks- namely BAD TASTE, DEAD ALIVE, MEET THE FEEBLES and THE FRIGHTENERS. His low budget stuff has arguably been some of the goriest, nastiness films ever made, and I’m pretty sure the majority of Hobbit-lovers out there have no idea where Jackson’s roots lie.

Today AICN had a chance to talk to Jackson about a couple of three things, and in the process, Jackson dropped a line about returning to the horror at some point! Could it be? Will we be grossed out again? Here’s what he had to say:

I’m also interested in making really low budget films, too. I get really inspired by seeing Edgar Wright going out and (making) SHAUN OF THE DEAD. These guys are just having fun and I’d love to go back and do some real grungy horror films for zero budgets again. I’ll figure out ways to do that… I’ve had a few years for them to fester on my mind…

Given, just because he wants to do low budget horror, doesn’t mean he will- but we can always hope! I for one will be first in line, as even his milder American flick THE FRIGHTENERS was better than most.
